Partnerships with a purpose

Good nonprofit resources should keep serving.

When a trusted Wisconsin funding directory reached the end of its chapter, Marquette University and CharityEZ helped its mission continue—and grow nationwide.

The problem

Nonprofits were at risk of losing a trusted source of funding information.

For more than forty years, Marquette University's Raynor Memorial Libraries published the Foundations in Wisconsin directory. Hundreds of nonprofits relied on it to understand more than 1,250 active grantmaking foundations across the state.

When the library sunsetted the directory in 2023, the need behind it did not disappear.

A trusted resource carried forward

Raynor Memorial Libraries provided inspiration for CharityEZ and became an early partner in its development.

The outcome

The information stayed available—and became more useful.

CharityEZ preserved the spirit of the original resource while expanding the research, relationships, and funding insight available to nonprofits across the country.

1

Preserve access

Keep valuable foundation information available to the nonprofit community.

2

Expand the view

Connect foundation research with grants, nonprofit leadership, and relationships.

3

Make it easier

Turn difficult public records into practical guidance nonprofit leaders can use.

Why this matters

Partnerships can protect what nonprofits depend on.

CharityEZ is grateful to Raynor Memorial Libraries for the decades of work that came before us and for trusting a new platform to carry that service forward. It is a reminder that better nonprofit tools are built through listening, stewardship, and shared purpose.
